"Gegia
Bronzini" , one of the outstanding firms of the Italian
textile sector, took its origin from the union of the great artistic
sensitivity of its founder, Gegia Bronzini, and the tradition of the
Italian rural weaving; it was 1932.
The company quickly estabilished its personality: the basic
and essential technology (hand weaving ) became the means to emphasise
the creativity; meticulous care in the best tradition of handicraft
was harmonised with the innovation in the use of fibres and colours.
"Gegia Bronzini" has chosen to keep and to emphasise
over time the characteristics of its origin, maintaining its handicraft
structure related to the quality and exclusivity of products.
The company, now run by Marisa Bronzini, the founder's daughter, is
based in the "Torchio" complex, next to the historic castle of Carimate.
The creative personality of Marisa Bronzini marks the whole production,
from the choice of designs and colours up to the selection of the
weft, where natural fibres (linen, silk, cotton) prevail together
with artificial ones (viscose) and others which are undoubtedly not
common in weaving (such us leather and copper). Some fibres are the
exclusive production of "Gegia Bronzini".
The "Gegia Bronzini" collection offers a large range for the
interior furnishings in textiles (upholstery, draperies, curtains).
Again the "Gegia Bronzini" style gives character to the "home
collection" which offers tablecloths, silk sheets, rugs and carpets.
"Gegia Bronzini" production includes prestigious top fashion textiles
together with an exclusive collection of ties.
"Gegia Bronzini" is distinguished also for the capability
of realising custom-designed textiles, which enables the client to
obtain fashion and furnishing solutions with unique and prestigious
characteristics.
In this context "Gegia Bronzini" co-operates with some of the
most well-known names of the Italian architecture and realises exclusive
textiles for outstanding firms of home furniture and nautical interiors.
The hand looms in the Carimate factory are used to create "Gegia
Bronzini" collections as well the textile works of art of Marisa
Bronzini.
